Dainty chars
They just live in cold and very clean waters and for me it is one of the very important factors that characterize these brookies.
They are a strong sign of no-pollution that help us to know the quality of waters they inhabit and then we consume in our cities down river.
In addition, as an angling prey, their spots and colours offer a singular attraction for any self respected fly fisher.
So very true. They are the canary in the coal mine.

Humberto: Wonderful photo/composite of brook trout, blurred wide brimmed hat and the blue color of angler’s cloths. The blurred hat in contrast to the crisp clear trout, make it an amazing picture. One of my favorites. The soft hackles are also not to “shabby”. Nice posts.
